Make Sure you are not making the most fundamental mistakes when writing trailer music

If I could boil all my years experience into a small list of easy and actionable lessons, then this course would be it!

Are you writing Trailer Music that is not being published or licensed?

Having taught hundreds of composers how to write trailer music I can tell you that I have noticed a pattern of the most common mistakes.

I am not talking about your production skills or email etiquette (although both are important).

I am talking about game-changing mistakes that are SUPER EASY to fix.

I see them all the time and they can make the difference between a composer landing a job or not.

Can't get your tracks sounding like the pros?

I started out exactly the same as you.

I discovered this amazing world of production music that specialised in movie trailers.

The only problem was that I didn't know how to get my tracks sounding like the ones I heard on the trailers?

Over a decade later I had learned a HUGE amount about what makes a track successful or not.

What makes it more likely for YOUR music to be chosen for a film trailer.

The amazing thing is that it's not what you think at all:

  • It's not how HUGE your orchestra sounds
  • It's not about how well you can mix and master your music
  • It's not about your knowledge of music theory
  • It's not about having the best sample libraries

It's about a handful of incredibly simple tips and tricks.

Actionable tips that you can use to level up your trailer music production

I trust my ideas and skills and I don't judge my music during the production.

Brigitta Varga

I have used these tips on all of my trailer music placements

These are just a tiny proportion of all of my placements that I have won by making sure my tracks meet the essential knowledge criteria

Captain America: Civil War

I landed two TV spots with one track for this campaign using the essential knowledge

Mary Queen of Scots

I used the essential knowledge to structure this piano cue

Britney vs Spears

I used the essentail knowledge to grow this drum only track from nothing to huge wallops of sound

Writing successful trailer music is not complicated, I will prove it!

I have come up with a checklist of the most common fundamental elements all of my most successful tracks have in common.

That checklist became the lessons of this course.

This is all based on over a decade of experience and from teaching hundreds of other composers how to do the same.

I started to notice that I was giving the same feedback and notes for all the tracks that were being submitted to me for review. They weren't bad tracks at all, they were just missing that (cringe) x-factor.

The wonderful thing is that each and every single lesson in this course IS NOT COMPLICATED. These tips and tricks are the building blocks of any great music and they will help you to become a much more confident and prolific composer.

Hi, I'm Richard Pryn
